The Luzerne Conservation District will be accepting quotes for the implementation of agricultural best management practices on a farm in Hollenback Township, Luzerne County.  The full project information package can be downloaded by clicking on the document titles below:

Prevailing Wage Rates*

*Prevailing Wage Rate Info.  – Prevailing Wage applies to these projects. Wage Determinations are provided by the PA Department of Labor & Industry.  Bidders should use the appropriate wage categories for personnel working on the project (i.e. Operators, Truck drivers, Carpenters, Laborers, etc.) when developing their bids.

Bid Document Appendix – DEP Contract Attachments – This project is funded by PA DEP Growing Greener & Countywide Action Plan Implementation grants.  Therefore, the selected contractor will be subject to the provisions of this Appendix which apply to sub-contractors to the overall grant contracts between the Conservation District and PA DEP.

Site Showing Discussion Items/Quote Clarifications:

  • Contractors should provide quote for MiraFount waterer and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installation and concrete pad.
  • The Access Road will be excluded from this quote package and installed at the same time as the building.
  • Contractors should not include the 2” Limestone Dust for the Animal Walkway in their quote. This will not be necessary.
  • Posts for fencing will be pounded.
  • Contractors should provide quote to include 2 waterers and 2 hydrants.
  • Any topsoil material shall be stockpiled on site.
  • Contractors should include in their quote the removal of some sapling trees at the end of the animal trail where it transitions to the adjacent field.
  • Contractors were made aware that getting materials to the Animal Trail and some parts of the waterline can be difficult if there are wet conditions.
  • Contractors should replace the 1.5″ PVC Schedule 40 for the water supply line with Polyethylene ASTM D2239 pipe.

IMPORTANT! Contractors interested in providing a quote on the project must visit the project site for a required pre-quote examination of the areas to become fully informed as to all existing conditions and limitations including access and availability of materials.

The mandatory site showing will be at the Stevens Farm at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
